'As
I sort through my wood to find the perfect piece
for a handle, I am amazed at the amount of
quality material that has come from you,
especially in my [native] Australian timbers. I
just wanted to thank you for that contribution
to my efforts. Also, yours is the only wood that
is consistently dry, flat, and well prepared,
and that saves me loads of time!'

Birdseye Curly Black Mulga (Acacia Ironwood)
Pictures are of actual
items available.
|
Black mulga, Acacia citrinoviridis,
is a knife makers dream come true. It is an
Acacia just like koa, Acacia koa, but it
is much harder like desert ironwood and tighter
grained with rich dark colors more like walnut.
It comes from the arid outback of Western
Australia only. It is rarer than snakewood and
harder than ebony. It is highly chatoyant and a
true gem grade wood.
- Heirloom Grade Wood & Figure
Note: This wood does not require plastic
pre-stabilization. It is quite hard and stable already
and it will easily keep its natural beauty and perform
flawlessly for years with almost any finish you
choose including; oil, wax, lacquer, acrylic,
urethane, etc. There is no need to do anything
else - just shape, sand, and finish as usual.
Shown dry / not wetted. The pictures are of the
actual items you will receive.
