today within sixty miles of the west coast of
the United States. It is the tallest living
organism there is with several examples
exceeding one hundred ten meters still living
today. Ring counts reveal redwoods live well
beyond two thousand years, but, since they are
also a vegetative reproducing conifer
their actual life span can reach many thousands
of years
more.
